SHERPA test lane Sherlane-6.0 completes modern Tyrolean automotive workshop

A modern automotive workshop has recently opened in Tösens in the Tyrolean Oberland with equipment, provided by our competent partner, Autobedarf Karl Kastner GmbH, as a full-service provider. One of the highlights of the test facility is our test lane Sherlane for cars and transporters up to 6 t axle load with a hot-dip galvanised roller brake tester in compact design, axle suspension tester based on the BOGE resonance method and side slip tester with an upstream axle release plate.

More about this in an article of the Austrian automotive magazine AUTOSERVICE, which we have permission to quote in extracts as follows (the entire article can be read here here):

The two young master car technicians Jim "Jimmy" Buchhammer and Mathias Pregenzer were self-employed with a service station for around two years, now they have dared to take the next step: They recently opened a modern automotive workshop in Tösens in Tyrol (Landeck district). The equipment for this came entirely from the Innsbruck based workshop equipment supplier Kastner.

The first official working day of the two young motor vehicle enthusiasts at the B&P Kraftfahrzeuge GmbH location in a newly created industrial park directly on the Reschen federal highway in Tösens was on 3 Mai 2021. By August, they want to strengthen their operations with two apprentices and an office worker. It was already clear to the young entrepreneurs at the beginning of the planning that they mainly want to rely on Kastner's range in terms of workshop equipment. Since 2018, Kastner Area Manager Hermann Hell has had a lively exchange with Jimmy Buchhammer and Mathias Pregenzer and, together with them, has planned the technical equipment for the new automotive workshop. Subsequently, a large number of modern devices for the automotive workshop were delivered and installed. (...)

A highlight supplied by Kastner is the test lane by the brand Sherpa, consisting of the 6T brake tester in combination with a suspension tester and side slip tester. The brake tester is characterized by a traversable axle load of 6 tons and a track width of 800 to 2,800 mm. “The brake tester is suitable for approx. all vehicles - from cars to caravans. It has automatic all-wheel detection, which of course can also be set manually. After the test has been completed, the vehicle is 'turned back' from the brake tester by turning the rollers in the running direction there is no need to drive out, which is in turn protecting the gearbox,” says Kastner Area Manager Hermann Hell, listing a number of advantages. (...)

We are pleased to be present in this great project, thank the specialist for workshop equipment Kastner for the always good cooperation, the AUTOSERVICE magazine for the permission to reference, and wish the two young Tyrolean entrepreneurs every success in their well-equipped car workshop!
