SHERPA presents new headlight testers SEP-ECO and SEP-Analog

We are glad to present our new headlight testers SEP-ECO and SEP-Analog, which have been developed in the NEXION group. Both devices of the new generation have the certification and type approval in accordance with the currently valid German “Guideline for the testing of headlight testers” dated 11 August 2020 (VkBl. 17 – 2020,
p. 551) and are now available in our SHERPA product range. The headlight testers combine innovation, efficiency, precision and reliability for perfect visibility.

The SEP-ECO model is a digital, camera-based system that ensures the precise adjustment and evaluation of all common lighting systems. Whether Halogen, Xenon, LED, Matrix LED and Laser light - an algorithm is embedded for each lighting system. By using the latest camera technology, even the smallest deviations can be detected. This not only guarantees optimal illumination of the road, but also compliance with all legal regulations. For additional checking of the intensity measurement and camera adjustment, a calibrated test light incl. cross-line laser for aligning the SEP is optionally available if required.

Highlights of the SHERPA SEP-ECO:

Headlight tester for all common headlight systems for motorcycles, cars and trucks
Pitch angle compensation: Thanks to the automatic level compensation, inclinations and unevenness up to ± 2 % in both directions can be compensated at the installation area of the light adjustment device
Optical box, made of steel and plastic cover, has various connection options to enable connectivity and software updates
Green laser above the column for alignment in front of the vehicle
Red cross-line laser on the optical box for precise alignment in front of the headlight
Aluminum column in matt black, with integrated balance weight. This high-quality column allows the operator to effortlessly move the optical box in both directions with one hand
Carriage is equipped with height-adjustable rubber wheels that guarantee perfect alignment
Powerful battery / rechargeable battery power supply for wireless use
CMOS camera for digital image processing in real time and LUX / Candela measurement
Large 230 mm Fresnel lens for optimal light concentration and optimized refractive index enables deviation control of up to 1 cm at 10 m
Exact definition of the light-dark boundary without annoying blue border
Digital, interactive 5,7 inch LCD color monitor with touchscreen feature
Menu in 7 languages (German, English, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish)
Intuitive, simple user guidance
Includes cover bonnet

In addition, we also offer a cost-effective analog device for checking and adjusting vehicle headlights for standard workshop inspections, the SEP-Analog. It offers the same mechanical advantages as the SHERPA SEP-ECO and also has the large Fresnel lens, the green laser visor above the column for alignment in front of the vehicle and the red cross-line laser on the optical box for precise alignment in front of the headlight.
